Volunteers
Are you interested in working as a volunteer to help preserve Canada's aviation heritage?
Project North Star volunteers have contributed over 26,000 hours toward the restoration of North Star 17515 at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum in Ottawa. Our volunteers are a diverse group with a wide variety of interests, experience and skills. We work in small teams, with expert supervision to guide and teach new volunteers. The work includesdisassembly and assembly of engines and other aircraft components, cleaning, painting, wood and sheet metal work, photography and documantation.
The following self administered quiz will allow you to assess your motivation and interest in becoming a volunteer.

- Do you like working as part of a team?
- Are you willing to undergo government security screening and take necessary safety training?
- Do you have some experience with mechanical or structural projects, metal or wood assemblies, or skills with tools?
- Do you have particular skills or experience related to aircraft restoration, such as military or civil aircrew, aviation, electrical or maintenance technician, engineering, design, research, documentation, or purchasing?
